  • Ian Hood - Joint MD +

    Ian's focus at Babel is on the design and implementation of creative and effective public relations campaigns for companies both large and small. His extensive experience includes strategic and tactical development for household names like Dell, Google and Tiscali, as well as campaign design and implementation for other leading companies and organisations including the Direct Marketing Association, the Digital TV Group, TVonics and Airvana.

    Before launching Babel, as business development director at one of Europe's largest technology PR agencies, Ian designed a range of award winning campaigns and was instrumental in spearheading record growth. Prior to this Ian headed his own corporate communications & investor relations consultancy providing high level strategic advice to companies including UK cable operator NTL, Dell's EMEA division and THUS plc when he advised the company on a communications strategy for its highly successful IPO.

    Ian was formerly director of communications & investor relations at cable TV company Telewest Communications plc where he took the lead communications role in a series of re-financing and M&A initiatives in addition to significantly raising the profile of the company and its senior management team. While at Telewest Ian designed and implemented the communications programme surrounding the launch of the company's digital television and broadband Internet services.

  • Narelle Morrison - Joint MD +

    Narelle is responsible for the strategy, management and effective implementation of client campaigns. With experience in agency and in-house roles, Narelle has a strong track record of launching new companies into Europe and building the profile of large and established brands. She also has extensive trade show experience, including Mobile World Congress and CeBIT, and strong relationships with business and trade journalists.

    Widely recognised as a leading telecoms PR consultant Narelle has experience working with companies including Ciena, Alcatel, THUS plc, Jersey Telecom Demon Internet and Freedom2Surf, Research In Motion, LogicaCMG, and mBlox.

    In addition, Narelle has much experience in the new media and marketing industries and has worked for companies including Experian, United Business Media, Reed Elsevier, NetBenefit, NetNames, and Servecast. Prior to launching Babel, Narelle led the telecoms and digital media practices at her previous agency where she had a pivotal role in growing the business from nothing to one of the largest technology PR agencies in Europe. Narelle's previous experience includes working with Chime Communications, marketing communications agency Big Group, and for one of the largest museum groups in Australia.

  • Matt Humphies - Director & head of telecoms +

    As well as being the fastest talker in the telecoms, media & technology sector, Matt is extremely well connected with the media that matter - print, broadcast and online. He's passionate about his clients and gets immersed in their businesses to produce the results required.

    Known as 'Mr Mobile' in the Babel office, he is probably the best connected public relations professional working in the mobile sector. He uses those connections to deliver outstanding results for clients like Ruckus Wireless, Tekelec, BICS and Tektronix Communications.

    Though her current age is a closely guarded secret, not so long ago Kathryn featured in PR Week's "29 under 29", showcasing some of the industry's brightest talent. She's even better than that now - unfazed by the complexities of telecoms, media & technology she drives highly successful consumer and business campaigns.

  • Simon Marks - Director & head of technology +

    Simon has more than 15 years PR, marketing and business experience including senior roles at T-Mobile and Microsoft where he was Global PR Manager for Xbox and Microsoft Office. His expertise covers global and EMEA corporate comms, crisis management, b2b and consumer tech.

    Something of a 'geek' at heart, Simon is also a strategic thinker who understands how to translate strategy into highly effective tactics. In recent years Simon has driven campaigns for Nintendo, Huawei, RIM, Vodafone.

  • Tony Brown - Senior consultant +

    Poacher turned gamekeeper, Tony is a former journalist who has spent the last 18 years either reporting on news or creating that news for his clients. A corporate communications and B2B / tech specialist, he has hands-on experience coordinating pan-European PR campaigns for major multinationals across a variety of industries, combining an understanding of corporate and strategic aims with a no-nonsense approach to tactical execution.

    As well as delivering maximum opportuntity for major technology brands like Canon, Xerox  and HP his eye for a story and understanding of journalist needs, mean he also delivers for start-ups and mid-size companies.
